About / Mission

We follow the money when others stop.

Chainvail is an independent, nonprofit newsroom dedicated to forensic investigations into cryptocurrency theft, fake recovery firms, and the global financial fraud ecosystem. Our analysts, investigators, and reporters publish only after verified on-chain evidence and at least two independent human sources have been reviewed by the editorial desk.

Verification first

Nothing publishes without two independent human sources and reproducible on-chain proof.

Source protection

Zero-log intake, SecureDrop relay, and end-to-end PGP for every contributor and tipster.

No paid coverage

We accept no advertising, no sponsorships, and no token grants — ever. Our donor list is public.

Public corrections

Material errors are flagged at the top of the article within 24 hours, with a dated correction note.

Methodology

01
Lead intake

Tips arrive via the encrypted portal, SecureDrop, or vetted partner referrals.

02
On-chain reconstruction

We rebuild the transaction graph across chains, mixers, and bridges.

03
Human verification

Every claim is corroborated with at least two independent human sources.

04
Legal & ethics review

Counsel and our ethics editor sign off before any name is published.

05
Publication & follow-up

Dossiers ship with raw data, methodology notes, and a corrections channel.
